How Can Acupuncture Help You?
Acupuncture is a complete system of medicine looking at the whole person to find the root of disease.
The goal with acupuncture is to bring the state of health back into balance, or homeostasis, through a series of treatments and then to maintain this balance with regular or seasonal "tune-ups." Think of acupuncture as like going to the gym - you can't just go once and expect the body to shift overnight. It takes repetition and continued maintenance to achieve your health goals. Acupuncture can help you do this.
Most patients with a chronic (longer than three months) condition will require 4-8 weekly appointments. Maintenance appointments are usually once a month.
What to Expect During Treatment:
Your first appointment will be about 90 min and we'll go over your complete health history. Bring any reports or blood work at this time to discuss.
The acupuncture treatment itself is about 30 minutes, and yes, involves the placement of very thin needles into points on the body, often in the limbs. However these needles are not painful in the slightest. In fact most patients find the experience quite relaxing.
If you've never had acupuncture before, we'll walk you through the process so you know exactly what to expect and feel comfortable.
